The Petite Ourse seat in hand-carved palm wood has a simple but captivating design. It is composed of rounded shapes that highlight the natural grain of the wood and combine to create a primitive form that looks like an unreal and endearing character.
Palm wood is a soft wood and cannot be assembled
in the same way as conventional wood. The piece then undergoes a long process of repeated sanding and varnishing to fix the top layer of its fibre and enhance its unique natural colour, which is different for each tree.
Its name, «Petite Ourse» (Little Bear), is a reference to the constellation of the same name.
